I had a job interview at Safeway today...and I got it! I am now employed! Well as soon as I fill out paperwork lol. Dad, Deb, and her mom are absolutely thrilled! Deb's mom was so excited I'm sure she wished she could hug me lol.

Okay, someone please answer this for me. Is it just me or is anyone else's window freezing for a few seconds before their livejournal page fully uploads? Because wherever I am, whatever computer I'm on, it takes like 20-30 seconds for the page to stop loading up and it bugs me! Maybe it's just me but it happened on the school computers so who knows? Does it happen to anyone else?

Is anyone else with Hotmail accounts getting these annoying emails by the bank of Africa or something talking about sending money or something? Ooooh it's a scam! Of course I knew that! If anyone didn't, delete the email from Bank of Africa and whatever the name is. It's a scam!

I'm heading for a burn out. Ah just when spring break is coming up. I'm supposed to call some restaurants for the EOPS ceremony but I can't get myself to do it. So tomorrow is the day since I have the least amount of things to do. Whoop diddly doo. I also have these scholarships I want to apply for that I JUST found out about and I need teacher recommendations. I got one so far and I just need two more, but of course this is last minute. The deadline is April 16, but as long as I get them in now, I should be fine. It's just a lot of work.

So at least I don't have to make the calls today. I'm going to do my listening assignment at 2:00, and you are all my witnesses, then the AGS meeting, meet my cultural convo exhchange partner, and then see the guest speaker at school. I don't get to rest at all, do I?

Due to personal reasons, the President of the EOPS club resigned and I am now the President. This pretty much means I get to give a speech at the EOPS awards. Also I won't be going to the AGS Conference. I'm disappointed, yes, but I think it'll be better for me financially to stay home that weekend.

I got a tone of work done. I finished my Math homework (one measily problem), I finished reading my Psychology and Ecology texts, and I wrote out my resource agency report thingy. Now I just have to work on memorizing my scene so I can be "off book" by next week. Oh I should also work on my character/play analysis.

I'm so happy. I got everything done that I wanted to do today! I had my phone interview with the lady from the resource agency for my ECD class, I read my chapter for Ecology, read the second section of my Psychology text, and...well I didn't work on my scene but that's okay, I'll be good! I'm just glad I got the phone interview done because I was worried about getting that assignment done. I did ask her to send me a brochure so I could look up more information from that. This is only worth 10 points so I should be fine.

I missed a call from Deb, she was just reminding me to take care of the rabbits. And that is all!

I got an 89 on my Math test. The rounding of this test pretty much screwed me over but oh well. I hate rounding anyway. But I'm still happy with my score.

My friend from high school's band played today at school. I gave him a quick hug before he had to go prepare. They were...well awesome doesn't begin to describe it. The guys were just awesome! I missed seeing my friend so it was nice to see him! Also helps he was one of the guys I had a crush on over the years lol. Shhh he doesn't know that...I think. I don't think it was ever obvious or that I told him lol.

Anyway that's about it. Just waiting till I can get going...in two and a half hours. It hasn't rained yet.

I've been looking up a ton of stuff for school next year and I'm also getting together questions to ask about jobs on campus when something Deb said kinda bothered me. She said I'm not disabled even though my dad and I think I do. It's weird to hear her say that. She said even though I have problems with my hearing and I have a lazy eye, everything else is fine and I'm not disabled. I understand what she is saying but I do have a disability even though you can't see it. Or maybe it's been so ingrained in me I believe I do I dunno. So if it's not a disability, why have I always been told it was?

Remember the scare I had about my Ecology quiz? Turns out I got 85 percent on it. That's way better than I thought I did. She eliminated one question since almost all of the class got it wrong and I didn't get the extra credit problem because...yes, you guessed it. I changed the answer. However, I did well on the actual test. Yay!

Steve Irwin Memorial

We watched Steve Irwin's memorial on Animal Planet tonight. It was so beautiful. Steve's daughter, Bindi, is so beautiful and so brave. She is a really tough girl and I can totally tell she got it from her father, and her mother of course. We all got teary at the end and my dad had to take a few minutes to compose himself at the end. All in all it was a wonderful tribute.

I went to the Tutorial center today to find out about getting a tutor and the lady let me know that I've been scheduled with someone and she'd give me a call later. Yay! I'll be able to get help with Statistics. I do understand it but it will help if someone is there working with me on it. That makes me happy.

I got my Math quiz and I got an 88 on it. I did better than I thought I did. He gave us credit for any answers that were close to his answers so that helped lol. I did the corrections on those very quickly and now I'm finished with my Math homework. I also have the practice test so I will be working on that to prepare for our first test. I'm hoping I'll be able to understand it.

I read through my Ecology textbook chapter and I took the practice test online. I only got three wrong on that one. It's a short chapter so that makes it easier to remember things. I'll also read through part of chapter 6 later.

I finished my ECD paper this weekend so it's all ready to go for tonight. I need to memorize my scene some more. I'm getting better at it but I actually need someone in front of me, not just my reflection in the mirror lol. I'm working with my dad on it tonight. Go me!

So. 9/11. I remember waking up and getting on the computer. My mom came in to tell me but being the naive, 14 year old kid I didn't know or care what she was telling me. I'm only excusing the fact that I just woke up but I also should have paid more attention to her because she was freaked out. I apologized to her later, btw and she told me not to worry about it, she knew how I was.

Anyway, I got ready for school and in the car, I remember listening to the radio and thinking the WTC was some sort of dome shaped building with a pentagon on it. Seriously, I never heard of these buildings and I didn't realize the magnitude of the situation until I got to school and saw the burning buildings on television. Once I saw the towers, I was shocked and confused. I kept glancing at the television all period trying to figure out what the heck was going on. I finally had enough during third period when I couldn't stand hearing about it anymore. I spent the next week watching the news. I told my teacher what I was doing and she said 'Honey, change the channel.' I did and yet when I turned it to Nickelodeon, I kept wondering why these shows could go on after such an ordeal?

Five years later, it still feels unreal. It feels like only yesterday that it happened. I watched the Flight 93 movie, the end of it, this weekend and my eyes welled up just like the first time it happened. I remembered back then I respected Bush for how he handled the whole thing and how he dealt with the news. While I don't agree with a lot of the things he has done, I still respect him for how he handled such a tragedy from the moment he first heard the words of the attack.

And there's my 9/11 soap box.

Steve Irwin is dead. I'm in shock. Apparently a stingray barb got him in the chest and went straight into his heart. That's so sad! He has a wife and two young children. Man. My dad used to watch his show all the time and he even has the bobblehead. He was playing with Caya tonight and once he was finished, I gently broke it to him. He was pretty shocked too.

RIP Steve Irwin.
